Luca Gaffuri – DMV, MRCVS, GPCert(Endo) – Veterinary Surgeon & Clinical Director


Mike Lazar – MRCVS – Veterinary Surgeon

Mike qualified in 2009 in Bucharest, Romania and joined us in 2018. He started his UK adventure in 2014, travelling around the country and has now settled in the South East which he thinks has the best weather and countryside. He enjoys surgery and is aiming to study for a certificate in orthopaedics. At home Mike has two adopted rabbits and a rescued cat, all doing a good job of destroying the house when he isn’t at home!


Adam Urbanski – DVM MRCVS PgCert (SAS) – Veterinary Surgeon

Adam qualified in 2005 and joined our practice in 2020, specialising in ultrasonography, soft tissue surgery and orthopaedics.  He is currently studying towards a certificate in small animal diagnostic imagery.  Out of work Adam enjoys spending time with his family and playing the piano and guitar.

Sarah Startup – Group Practice Manager

Sarah has worked in veterinary practice since 1989 as a Receptionist.  Sarah joined our Kingsnorth branch when it was opened in Summer 2001, becoming Branch Manager in 2007 and Group Practice Manager of Cinque Ports Vets & Milbourn Equine in 2016.  She is assisted in her office by Izzy her rescue terrier.


Heather Gibbs – Branch Manager

Heather joined our Hawkhurst branch in February 2015.  She became Branch Manager in 2019. Heather is kept busy with her three sons and grandson.  Any spare time she has Heather likes to spend walking her four terriers and looking after the family’s variety of horses.

Natalie Pullen – RVN – Head Veterinary Nurse

Natalie began nursing in 1995 in Kent and qualified in 1999 in a London practice. There she adopted a small terrier, Crispin and spent her spare time walking in the parks and housesitting.  Starting a family brought her back to Kent, where she lives with her husband, two children, cats and guinea pigs. Natalie joined our Hawkhurst team in January 2016 and enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing.

Fiona Andrews – RVN – Veterinary Nurse, Pet Health Counsellor

Fiona began nursing in 2002, qualifying as a VN in 2004. She has been at Hawkhurst since 2006 and runs the Youth Club for our junior patients. Fiona gained her Royal Canin Pet Health Counsellor qualification in 2009 enabling her to advise on a wide range of beneficial healthcare issues. She has two rescue cats and in her spare time enjoys horse riding, using her local gym and going to the cinema.

Hannah Mitchell – BSC ( Hons) RVN – Veterinary Nurse

Hannah began nursing in 2015 and recently qualified from Harper Adams University, joining us in 2019. She has dogs, guinea pigs, chickens, ducks and 6 rescue cats and enjoys horse riding when she gets a chance.

Catherine Oakley – Receptionist

Catherine joined us here at Hawkhurst in September 2015 as a receptionist. She previously worked for a number of years at a local rehoming centre as an animal welfare assistant and dog behaviourist. Catherine has owned dogs from Wolfhounds to Chihuahuas and currently owns a Chinese Crested, Chihuahua and Precious, her 14 year old Pug. Catherine also keeps reptiles, a rabbit, guinea pig and a skinny pig, all of whom keep her very busy!

Trixie Wilkinson – Receptionist

Trixie joined us in 2019. She has two cats, Sassy Sue and Rocket. In her spare time Trixie likes to go on National Trust walks with her partner Gavin and play video games.

Alison Horn – Receptionist

Alison joined us in 2020 after returning to the UK from spending the past 14 years living and working at a wildlife sanctuary in South Africa. Alison qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2000. She lives in Maidstone with her two cats who came back from South Africa with her. In her spare time, Alison enjoys stand up paddling, kayaking, walks in the country and bird and wildlife spotting. She is also a volunteer livestock checker for the Kent Wildlife Trust.


Trevor Jones – Maintenance Manager

Trevor began working for Cinque Ports Veterinary Group in 2011.  He works between all our branches maintaining the buildings and grounds. When not working he enjoys the occasional round of golf.
